Role Description The Registered Nurse role is a full-time, on-site position based at Aadhithya Medical Centre in Thanjavur. In this role, the nurse provides direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications and treatments, assisting with procedures, and supporting recovery plans under the direction of physicians and senior clinicians. Daily responsibilities include assessing patient needs, maintaining accurate medical records, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, and educating patients and families on diagnoses, therapies, and preventive health practices. The nurse plays a key role in infection control, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives, while ensuring compassionate, culturally sensitive, and ethical care. This position also involves responding to emergencies, prioritizing critical cases, and contributing to a calm, organized, and supportive clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing qualification (GNM, B.Sc Nursing, or equivalent) and current registration with the appropriate nursing council.
- Proven skills in patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and clinical documentation.
- Experience in general medicine, emergency and critical care, or inpatient ward management is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices, patient safety protocols, and basic life support/advanced life support.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate and support patients and families with empathy and clarity.
- Comfort with using hospital information systems, electronic medical records, and basic computer applications.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently in a busy clinical environment.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required for continuous patient care.
- Prior experience in a hospital or multi-specialty medical centre is an advantage; fresh graduates with strong clinical training may also be considered.
